Managed Gaming Solutions Sponsors Fat Burner Racing Engineering Team for GP2 SERIES™
Managed Gaming Solutions Plc (MGS), a leading technology and service provider for mobile and interactive gaming solutions, and for mobile micropayment sector, is proud to announce today that it has taken a sponsorship role in the automobile racing GP2 SERIES™ (GP2) and is supporting the Spanish Fat Burner Racing Engineering team.
The GP2 is designed to make racing affordable for the teams and to make it the perfect training ground for life in Formula One. Many drivers have used GP2 as a stepping stone into Formula One: 2006 GP2 winner Lewis Hamilton made the transition to Formula One the following year with McLaren and the 2007 Champion Timo Glock to Toyota for the 2008 season. GP2 has made it mandatory for all of the teams to use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier so that true driver ability is reflected. Success of the GP2 has been steadily increasing since its inception; in 2008 more than 143 million viewers were enjoying the excitement of these highly competitive race events. The 2009 GP2 season started in May at the Catalunya circuit in Spain and will end 10 races later in Portimao, Portugal.
“It is an honour to make this contribution to the GP2 SERIES and the famous Fat Burner Racing Engineering team, which with Giorgio Pantano has claimed the drivers’ championship in 2008”, explains Tero Turunen, Executive Chairman of Managed Gaming Solutions. “We are convinced that with Lucas Di Grassi and Dani Clos our favorite team will defend the title which they won with Pantano. Partnering with the Fat Burner Racing Engineering team on this unique sporting event further enhances MGS’s brand positioning, and we look forward to joining millions of motorsport enthusiasts enjoying the outstanding racers who will compete in the GP2 season”, Turunen states.
